The album's name is German and translates to "Silent Farewell". Despite this, the tone of it and overall mood is less silent and more angry than the band's debut album in my opinion. Lots of emotions is being shared in every riff, every drum beat and especially in every vocal line. Their current album really delivers on all fronts.
My favourite track is Echo der Schöpfung (German for "echo of creation"). The piece feels angry, yet melancholic at the same time. I also really like the title track, which is the longest on the whole record, clocking in at 10:15 min.
What never ceases to amaze me is how small artists can play a small live show, in this case in Dynamo, Zürich and still deliver a performance and musicality that would be worthy of a festival headliner. After their show, I bought the Die Bürde die wir tragen CD and didn't think much of it. Now, after listening to Bedrängnis for a while, and after listening to this newest release, I am confident in saying that I'm a fan.
I had the album on release day, but due to a number of factors didn't get to listen to it with my fullest attention. I am glad that I waited patiently until I had time for it, as the album is simply amazing. Late congrats on the release (if you're ever going to see this - I doubt it)!
